Srinagar, Oct 26 (KNO): The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday today took out a “Tiranga rally” in summer capital to protests against remarks of Kashmir’s mainstream leaders.
The party leadership claimed that the need to take out Tiranga rally was felt after some politicians made utterances that they won’t hold the national flag till the flag of erstwhile state is returned. “Today, we celebrated accession day. On this day, Maharaja Hari Singh acceded to India and we are thankful to him that he saved us from the clutches of invaders,” BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He said that they took out a rally from Tagore Hall to SKICC. “Today we to give a message to those who claimed that they won’t hold national flag. We have conveyed to them that every single citizen of Kashmir will unfurl the national flag. Till yesterday, these leaders were made in India and now they are made in China,” Thakur said in an obvious reference to remarks of Dr Farooq Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti. Later, few BJP workers including women chanted “Bharat Mata ki Jai” slogans at SKICC to mark the accession day—(KNO)
